Christian worldview camps give youth the alternative to woke America
Dr. Alex McFarland: ‘Wokeness is not natural, it has to be taught and forced. God’s Truth and the Gospel are innate and genuine.’
GREENSBORO, N.C. — In today’s world, summer camps are not what they used to be; they are now abandoning time-tested traditions and catering to the woke agenda. Organizations such as the Girl Scouts have adopted a Camp Culture Code, indoctrinating girls with age-inappropriate propaganda, committing to teaching them about diversity, equity, inclusion, and racial justice, as well as explicit LGBTQ+ material. Outdoor clothing brand, The North Face, is sponsoring an overnight camp, Camp Brave Trails, for children who identify as LGBTQ, encouraging them to perform in drag. The camp aims to create “a space that encourages positive self-discovery, embraces diverse gender expressions, and nurtures creativity.” Additionally, the American Camp Association has embedded race and gender ideologies into their operations, specifically overnight camps to become a welcoming place for LGBTQ campers.
Founder and President of Alex McFarland Ministries Dr. Alex McFarland is a teacher and leader for America’s youth who desperately need the Lord’s truth and guidance in a time when the culture is trying to discredit truth as we know it.
“Children are hungry for the Spirit,” says McFarland. “These middle schoolers and high schoolers want to know about the Lord and about America. They know that they are not being told the truth in public schools. Wokeness is not natural, it has to be taught and forced. God’s Truth and the Gospel are innate and genuine.”
This summer, in partnership with Reasons For Hope, Dr. Alex McFarland, will be a featured speaker at the EQUIP Retreat Camps. The camps are for middle and high school students who want to immerse themselves in learning about apologetics and biblical worldviews from Alex and other keynote speakers. Young people will gain the knowledge and understanding to own, share, and defend their faith in the Lord, given their newfound confidence to spread the Gospel.
“For these young people, a Christian worldview camp is youth programming to inoculate against wokeness. Globalization, socialism, multiculturalism, and the LGBTQ+ trans agendas are counterintuitive for children. At these biblically based, Gospel centered camps, we talk to kids about the things that they don’t want. They don’t want socialism; they don’t want to be lectured about gay ideologies in elementary school. We tell children what they are hungry for: Why am I here? Who is God? What should I do about America? The life and patriotism that we offer them are what they are searching for and what they need to stand firm in a faith that is being rejected.”
Alex McFarland currently co-hosts Exploring the Word on the American Family Radio Network, airing daily on nearly 200 radio stations across the U.S. He is also the host of the “Alex McFarland Show,” which airs weekly on NRB TV and YouTube. The “Alex McFarland Show” podcast is available here. Alex McFarland co-hosts the “Truth and Liberty Live Call-in Show,” along with Andrew Wommack, Mark Cowart and Richard Harris. The show airs each night, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. ET, and McFarland hosts Tuesday nights.
McFarland and theologian Bert Harper, veteran cohosts of the nationally syndicated broadcast Exploring the Word, are proud to announce the launch of their latest book, “100 Bible Questions and Answers for Families.” A follow-up to their previous work, “100 Bible Questions and Answers,” this powerful new book promises to guide through some of the most common challenges and queries people have about God, the Bible, and Christian living.
