WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.—The extensive research of a recent Generation Z Barna study found that it is very important to engaged Christian parents that their child develops a lasting faith.

“If the goal is to impart a vibrant, lasting faith to the next generation, the current state of affairs is not promising,” Barna reports. “Christianity has less of a hold on Gen Z than on any previous age group. Fewer U.S. teens than adults believe core theological tenets of the Christian faith—and teens who do make orthodox faith claims are not quite as sure about them as adults. Most of us form our values and assumptions before the age of 20, so it’s vitally important to reassess our discipleship priorities and methods—and adjust as necessary.”

No one knows this better than “Counter Culture Mom” Tina Marie Griffin, who will be a featured speaker at the upcoming Truth for a New Generation conference in the Nashville area next month organized by religion and culture expert and author Dr. Alex McFarland. The event is set for Sept. 14-15 at New Vision Baptist Church, 1750 North Thompson Lane in Murfreesboro, just outside of Nashville.

Griffin takes to heart facts like those uncovered by the Barna study, which found that more than nine out of 10 engaged Christian parents—or those who identify as Christian, regularly attend church and have orthodox beliefs—say it is important that their child “is equipped to explain the Christian faith” and is “engaged in service.”

McFarland’s Truth for a New Generation events do exactly that, as they provide young people with the tools to defend their faith in a culture that often tests it.

“When I first met Tina Marie Griffin, I was blown away at her knowledge and communication style regarding how pop culture is eating away at young people’s worldviews,” said McFarland. “Today’s youth are pumped full of a secular worldview pushed on them by media, gaming, music and movies. In some sad cases, Hollywood has more of an effect on teens than their parents. We must pray for God’s guidance about the increasingly crucial role we play in young people’s lives—and how we can be a counterculture influence and reveal the truth of Jesus Christ.”

Griffin is a former actress who reveals how pop culture is eroding the foundational development of today’s youth. She is a leading media expert and has traveled the world to show how pop culture and the media glamorizes harmful behaviors without showing the consequences. She has shared her eye-opening message, “Hollywood Exposed,” at school assemblies, parent meetings, colleges, leadership conferences, music festivals, camps, cruise ships, church services and other venues. Griffin has worked on multiple television shows and movies, as well as for L’Oreal Cosmetics and Limited Too. She was also a contestant in the preliminary Miss America pageant.

Joining Griffin and McFarland in Tennessee are legendary apologist Josh McDowell, author and national radio host Dr. Michael Brown, faith investigator J. Warner Wallace, former jihadi Kamal Saleem, American Family Radio’s Meeke Addison, worship leader and Stage 2 Ministries founder Cindy Johnson, and Church For All Nations senior pastor Mark Cowart, among others.

Admission to the Tennessee Truth for a New Generation event includes entrance to the conference and exhibits; admission for those under the age of 18 is free (parent or guardian must be present and registration is required). A VIP lunch option Saturday is also available, which includes a private luncheon with key speakers who will give a “Religion & Culture Briefing” plus one complimentary book. Student, group, Gold Circle and VIP package rates are also available. Tickets also include a discount for a Friday night Christian hip-hop concert featuring Tedashii.
