America has no legitimate claim to owning Gaza, says Dr. Alex McFarland
‘It is our duty as Christian Americans to share the good news of Jesus Christ with all peoples, including Gazans and Israelis’
GREENSBORO, N.C. — As the fighting intensifies in the Gaza strip between Palestine and Israel and millions are displaced from their homes, President Donald Trump’s suggestion that the United States should take control of the Gaza Strip is creating outrage across the globe. Describing the area as “unlucky,” Trump outlined plans for America to pave the way for “an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing for the people of the area,” noting that the Gaza Strip could become the “Riviera of the Middle East.”
Detractors and supporters alike criticized the president’s bold suggestion, with many noting that the plan infringes on foreign aid policy. Youth, culture and religion expert Dr. Alex McFarland commented that no matter the president’s intentions, the area rightfully belongs to Israel.
“Turmoil in the Middle East is not new — in fact, the Bible outlines generations of war and violence throughout the region,” said McFarland. “While President Trump’s suggestion might seem straightforward, America, Palestine, and the rest of the world must return the Promised Land back to Israel. We have found ourselves in an unprecedented moment when we can right some wrongs and advocate for turning to Christ. Even as we pray for those suffering in the Gaza Strip, it is our duty as Christian Americans to share the good news of Jesus Christ with all peoples, including Gazans and Israelis.”
Alex McFarland currently co-hosts Exploring the Word on the American Family Radio Network, airing daily on nearly 200 radio stations across the U.S. He is also the host of the “Alex McFarland Show,” which airs weekly on NRB TV and YouTube. The “Alex McFarland Show” podcast is available here.
