Dr. Alex McFarland’s Book Reminds Americans to ‘Stand

Strong’ in the Face of Adversity, Disharmony and a Divided

Nation, as Evidenced in McFarland’s Recent ‘Malaise Index’

CHARLOTTE, N.C.—Especially now, Americans must come together for one purpose—to ‘Stand Strong’—says author, evangelist and culture expert Dr. Alex McFarland (www.AlexMcFarland.com).

McFarland’s newest book, “Stand Strong America: Courage, Freedom and Hope for Tomorrow,” is co-authored with evangelist and apologist Jason Jimenez, McFarland’s co-host of the “Viral Truth” television program, which airs on the National Religious Broadcasters television network. “Stand Strong America” addresses the idea that Americans are weary of the poor character and decisions of their leaders, while widespread corruption has led many to lose hope and succumb to fear.

“Our hearts break for the lives lost this weekend in Florida,” McFarland said. “We pray for the families of those who have died or were injured, and pray that a community—and a country—will unite to show true love and compassion. It is possible for our nation to turn from our current state, where there is fear of attack and hate with intent to harm.

“In ‘Stand Strong America,’ Jason and I chart the amazing story of how America became the greatest nation on earth and what Americans must do to regain that greatness,” McFarland continued. “It is realistic that we can return to the foundations that our forefathers intended. It will take hard work and commitment, and standing for what is right is never easy, but our tasks are clear: to love God, cherish freedom, pray for a better tomorrow, make a difference and stand strong no matter the cost.”

Terrorist threats and attacks are a daily occurrence, and are all too real after the sad news in Orlando. The exercise of free speech is becoming a thing of the past.  Every day Americans nervously watch the national debt climb to a whopping $20 trillion (with no solutions in sight). Government bailouts are the norm, and entitlement spending is out of control. Civil unrest and racial divide intensify. Drug use, pornography obsession and human trafficking increase.

“Stand Strong America: Courage, Freedom and Hope for Tomorrow” provides Americans real answers and courage to stand strong in the midst of uncertainty and fear—offering a vision of hope that reignites the fervor and courageous faith that existed when the republic of America was created. “Stand Strong America” is available at AlexMcFarland.com, Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble or Christianbook.com.

In addition, McFarland recently launched the “2016 Malaise Index,” which will gauge Americans’ views on the culture as a whole, as well as their outlook on society, whether positive or negative. Hundreds have already responded.

“Our desire is to gauge and report what many Americans feel about the culture based on their response to the ‘2016 Malaise Index,’ McFarland said of the survey, to which Americans are already responding. “These answers—from those who are the most involved in society, raising children, working at schools, attending churches, building up businesses and contributing to the economy—will be a telling indicator of the real state of America.”

McFarland interacts yearly with about 20,000 young people and is also the author of “The God You Thought You Knew: Exposing the 10 Biggest Myths About Christianity,” in which he dispels the myths and untruths about Christianity and replaces that with the truth of who God really is.

McFarland has also penned “The 21 Toughest Questions Your Kids Will Ask About Christianity,” “10 Questions Every Christian Must Answer,” “10 Issues that Divide Christians,” “10 Answers for Skeptics” and the “Stand” series of devotions for teens. McFarland is also an expert in the field of apologetics—the practice of defending the Christian faith in a world where faith in Christ is plummeting at alarming rates.

McFarland has spent years working with young people and takes their questions to heart. He has preached in more than 1,300 churches and has been featured at conferences such as the Billy Graham School of Evangelism, Focus on the Family’s “Big Dig” and California’s “Spirit West Coast,” sharing the platform with Chuck Colson, Eric Metaxas, Josh McDowell and others. He also serves as Director for Christian Worldview and Apologetics at the Christian Worldview Center of North Greenville University (www.ngu.edu) in Greenville, S.C.

Part evangelist, part apologist, part educator and part broadcaster, McFarland focuses on communicating the message of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. He co-hosts the daily, live radio program “Exploring the Word” on American Family Radio’s Talk Network, heard on approximately 140 stations across the country, and the weekly television show “Viral Truth,” airing on the National Religious Broadcasters Network, which he co-hosts with Jason Jimenez.
