Christian parents must stand firm against LGBTQ+ agenda seducing America’s children,
says Dr. Alex McFarland
‘Just as the prodigal son returned to his father, God can always change the hearts of those who go astray’
GREENSBORO, N.C. — Approximately 40% of Generation Z (ages 12-27) identify as LGBTQ+, a notable rise from previous generations. This growth is also reflected in the Christian population, with 30% of young Christians claiming homosexual tendencies. This rise in the homosexual lifestyle could be attributed to the pro-gay culture that has permeated American society. Despite the casual approach to homosexuality taken by mainstream media, the Bible makes it very clear that a romantic relationship should be between a biological man and a biological woman. So how should Christian parents respond if their children express feelings for the same sex?
Youth, culture and religion expert Dr. Alex McFarland has been speaking to adolescents and parents on how the message of Jesus Christ can lead their children through darkness and help them find the light for decades. When it comes to children “coming out” to their parents, McFarland urges Christian parents to stand firm in their biblical convictions despite external pressures.
“No matter what the world says, marriage should be between a man and woman,” says McFarland. “Unfortunately, our corrupt society is working to indoctrinate children into the homosexual lifestyle. For parents who are facing this daunting hurdle, remember that even though you have unconditional love for your children, you don’t have to — and should not — condone this lifestyle. Learning that your child has fallen victim to this alternative lifestyle can be grievous, but parents must remain steadfast in the truth. Just as the prodigal son returned to his father, God can always change the hearts of those who go astray.”
Alex McFarland currently co-hosts Exploring the Word on the American Family Radio Network, airing daily on nearly 200 radio stations across the U.S. He is also the host of the “Alex McFarland Show,” which airs weekly on NRB TV and YouTube. The “Alex McFarland Show” podcast is available here.
McFarland and theologian Bert Harper, veteran cohosts of the nationally syndicated broadcast Exploring the Word, are proud to announce the launch of their latest book, “100 Bible Questions and Answers for Families.” A follow-up to their previous work, “100 Bible Questions and Answers,” this powerful new book promises to guide through some of the most common challenges and queries people have about God, the Bible, and Christian living.
