Radicals overthrew the study of history, and now America is losing its collective memory
‘American culture has fled from God for years, resulting in not only a religious but a patriotic decline,’ says youth, culture and religion expert Dr. Alex McFarland
GREENSBORO, N.C. — The attack on studying history has again shown to have been wildly successful and damaging to the country. The American Council of Trustees and Alumni (ACTA) recently found in a survey that college students’ basic knowledge of America’s history and government is abysmal. The majority of college-age students in the U.S. are just simply ignorant about their country. The study found that only 35% knew that Mike Johnson was the Speaker of the House and only 27% knew that VP Harris was the president of the Senate. According to news reports, “the ACTA survey confirms years of research linking poor civics knowledge to disinterest, discontent and distrust among young voters. Some said the trend has contributed to a rise in low-information voters deciding elections and in historically illiterate politicians gaining power with extremist rhetoric.”
Youth, culture and religion expert Dr. Alex McFarland suggests that college students’ ignorance of American democracy is a result of lousy curriculum, eliminating patriotism from schools, and the continued efforts to remove God from public life.
“Our great nation’s history has been steeped in Christianity,” said McFarland. “As American education has suppressed history, American culture has fled from God for years, resulting in not only a religious but a patriotic decline,” says McFarland.
“Our Founding Fathers knew that the only way America could thrive as a country was to be ‘one nation, under God.’ Now, our nation’s leaders are being led astray by the evil desire to finish erasing history and blotting out the historical facts proving our nation was founded on and with the Christian faith. We cannot allow this progressive agenda to banish the very foundation that made America so great. America must return to Christ and repent, or it will soon become too late to salvage the dream that this nation was founded on. It’s too bad people don’t know who the Speaker of the House is, but it’s the end of the Republic if we forget God and refuse to honor our Creator’s role in our history.”
Alex McFarland currently co-hosts Exploring the Word on the American Family Radio Network, airing daily on nearly 200 radio stations across the U.S. He is also the host of the “Alex McFarland Show,” which airs weekly on NRB TV and YouTube. The “Alex McFarland Show” podcast is available here.

“It is vital that the coming generations learn about the Judeo-Christian foundation and government principles of this great nation so they can be inspired to save us from ourselves.
“Children and youth need to be raised to believe in Jesus, but also to know that the call to discipleship comes with a call to bold patriotism. It is only through a complete turn back to God — as our national motto suggests — that we as a nation can hope to reach the level of greatness and patriotism we once achieved.”
