New Testament writers were NOT influenced by pagan religions. The words recorded in both the Old and New Testaments were inspired by the Holy Spirit. New Testament writers focused on Jesus and the consistency and accuracy of their writings attest to the veracity of its content being from God alone. The New Testament was not influenced by any pagan religion, however, many first century pagan religions have “borrowed” from the New Testament to give credibility to their lies. So it could be said, that first century pagan religions were influenced by God’s truths, but we know they twisted or changed them to fit their needs.

As Peter and the apostles said, “We ought to obey God rather than men” (Acts 5:29) So also, we ought to believe God’s Word, not pagan religions.
