Checklist of Voting Considerations, Especially During Respect Life Month

Wouldn’t it be great if voters had a checklist to consider before heading to the ballot box?

They do, thanks to Dr. Alex McFarland (www.AlexMcFarland.com), who is advising Americans about eight critical questions they should ask themselves before casting their vote on Nov. 8.

Among them is the topic of the sanctity of life, especially as October is Respect Life Month. The Hyde Amendment is also marking its 40th anniversary. The law, according to Life Site News, protects U.S. taxpayers from being compelled to pay for abortions for most low-income women. The pro-life news outlet also estimates that 2 million lives have been save by the Hyde Amendment.

This presidential election is like no other, McFarland says, in that Christian voters, pastors and churches have a huge stake in the outcome. All of us, he adds, have both the biblical and the civil responsibility to not only vote, but to take our values—and some serious considerations—to the polls with us.

Case in point, Hillary Clinton, Planned Parenthood and other Democrats are working hard to repeal the Hyde Amendment and force the faithful to pay for abortions.

McFarland’s full list of eight considerations before Nov. 8 includes:

  1. Remember that “the perfect is the enemy of the good.”
  2. Will my life be better or worse under this president?
  3. Will this president protect my religious freedom?
  4. How will this candidate protect life?
  5. Will this candidate protect our country?
  6. Who will this president appoint to the Supreme Court?
  7. Will this president protect the financial resources with which God has entrusted us?
  8. Will I feel good about the decisions this president will make?
