Too little, too late; Bill Gates’ AI fears fail to see the real danger inherent in technology boom
Dr. Alex McFarland: ‘While the allure of AI is strong, the imagined future of life on AI easy street could simply be a deception hiding the AI goal of creating our own God in our own image’
GREENSBORO, N.C. — Tech pioneer and international billionaire Bill Gates just claimed to be the “first” person to warn the general public about the dangers of artificial intelligence (AI). In a lengthy blog post, in which Gates reveals his self-deception on many topics, Gates expostulated that “even under the best circumstances,” humanity must be on guard for the potential dangers this new technology poses. General concerns about AI surfaced years ago, but Gates now suddenly says he is “deafened by the silence” regarding AI’s obvious pitfalls. Meanwhile, Gates’ own company, Microsoft, created and actively runs the generative AI chatbot, Copilot.
“How nice of Bill Gates to finally join the rest of the sane world in the outcry against AI,” said youth, culture and religion expert Dr. Alex McFarland. McFarland has been a loud voice in the fight against artificial intelligence and its detrimental effects on the population, particularly today’s youth, for years. McFarland’s recent op-ed discussed the intrinsic dangers AI poses to those struggling in their faith.
“Have Gates and his billionaire buddies had their heads in the sand the last five years? Anyone even half paying attention these days is painfully aware of the rise and inherent dangers of AI,” commented McFarland. “From nationwide protests against AI data centers to a plethora of celebrities and tech giants warning against AI usage, the vast majority of humanity knows about the risks of AI. My personal fear is not just that AI will take the jobs and livelihoods of millions of Americans, but also that it will become a distraction and a crutch for a people who desperately need to seek the face of God. While the allure of AI is strong, the imagined future of life on AI easy street could simply be a deception hiding the AI goal of creating our own God in our own image.”
