American apathy towards 9/11 opens the door for a new radical Islamic tactic — infiltration
Dr. Alex McFarland: ‘We must defend our country from terrorist attacks from around the world, but we also must acknowledge and fight the hate-filled attacks on our freedoms right here at home’
GREENSBORO, N.C. — As the nation prepares to honor the 25th anniversary of the savage Islamic hijacking of several planes, resulting in the demolition of New York’s World Trade Center and a large portion of the Pentagon, as well as the deaths of nearly 3,000 people, more than one in eight Democrats believe Americans spend too much time commemorating the brutal attack on September 11, according to a shocking new poll. Not only does the poll reveal the disturbing lack of reverence towards one of the nation’s most recent horrors, but it also shows that the vast majority of Democrats believe that Muslims have been treated significantly worse than other religious groups in response to 9/11. Meanwhile, the majority of Republicans believe that September 11 should be a national holiday.
“It’s not an exaggeration to say that 9/11 permanently changed the fabric of this nation,” said youth, culture and religion expert Dr. Alex McFarland. “I stood in the rubble of the Twin Towers just two days after the horrific attack. The scene still haunts me to this day — people wandering the streets looking for their loved ones, first responders exhausted and heartbroken by the senseless violence. The attacks on the Twin Towers were the most devastating attacks of terrorism in American history. The idea that we as a nation ‘overemphasize’ this tragedy is not only absurd, but anti-American.
“The aftershocks of 9/11 can still be felt to this day and changed America’s view of itself, our role in global politics, and our approach to world religions. 9/11 showed us that there are cultures and religions whose sole purpose is to obliterate our way of life. Islam is not a worldview that assimilates into other cultures; it seeks to dominate. Wherever there is the spread of Islam, an attempt to implement Sharia law always follows. And we’ve seen time and time again where Sharia law leads to horrific so-called ‘honor killings’ in which fathers may kill even their own daughters. While many practicing Muslims are peaceful and reject violence, when you get down to the core of Islam as a faith, it is not a faith of harmony. Unfortunately, many here in America are turning a blind eye to Islam’s latest obliteration tactic — infiltration. We must defend our country from terrorist attacks from around the world, but we also must acknowledge and fight the hate-filled attacks on our freedoms right here at home.”
On October 3, McFarland will speak with ex-radical Muslims Mohamad Faridi and Kamal Saleem about the encroaching threat of radical Islam on American ideology in the latest installment of the much-acclaimed Conversations that Matter series.
