Dr. Alex McFarland urges Christians to pray for Christians in Ukraine and an end of the war
As the world watches President Trump negotiate, Christians around the world must pray even as they mourn the loss of hundreds of religious sites
GREENSBORO, N.C. — President Donald Trump recently spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Anchorage, Alaska, followed quickly by an Oval Office meeting with European leaders and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The hope was to end the Russia-Ukraine war as he promised during his campaign for the presidency. Successful negotiations would stop the displacement of millions and the destruction of critical Ukrainian landmarks, such as the demolition of over 600 religious sites.
Youth, culture and religion expert Dr. Alex McFarland commented on Trump’s involvement with the Ukrainian conflict, noting that Trump’s efforts must overcome the failed policies of previous presidencies.
“The Obama and Biden regimes pushed to give Ukraine NATO membership, igniting Russia’s violent reaction that has destroyed the lives of millions and seen the ruthless destruction of hundreds of religious sites,” said McFarland. “Christians are beseeching God for deliverance and mercy, but many find themselves without a church home or community of believers because of the war. Christians must pray continuously that the violence ends soon before even more lives are lost and more irreparable damage is done to churches and church communities.”
