Dr. Alex McFarland warns America against government censorship after Justice Jackson’s concerning First Amendment remarks

‘Proponents of Justice Jackson’s skewed viewpoint would happily see the government slowly leech away all perspectives and opinions that don’t align with their progressive ideologies,’ declares McFarland

GREENSBORO, N.C. Controversial Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson shocked Americans when she expressed that “the First Amendment hamstring[s] the federal government in significant ways in the most important time periods,” referring to the government’s censoring of “disinformation” on technology platforms throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. “Some might say that the government actually has a duty to take steps to protect the citizens of this country, and you seem to be suggesting that that duty cannot manifest itself in the government encouraging or even pressuring platforms to take down harmful information,” Brown insisted.

Many critics are in disbelief that a Supreme Court Justice seemingly discredits the validity of the First Amendment, with many noting that “hamstringing the federal government” is precisely what that Amendment was designed to do.

“That’s exactly the point of the First Amendment; if the government can censor us, guess which groups will have their speech eliminated?” noted Founder and President of Alex McFarland Ministries Dr. Alex McFarland. “It’s highly concerning that a Supreme Court Justice can show such little understanding of the freedoms and protections our Founding Fathers set in place over 200 years ago. The First Amendment was designed to stop the government from silencing dissenting ideas and pushing its own propaganda. Proponents of Justice Jackson’s skewed viewpoint would happily see the government slowly leech away all perspectives and opinions that don’t align with their progressive ideologies. It’s tragic that a member of the highest court in the land is questioning the validity of one of the foundations of this great nation. Perhaps it’s not surprising that the person who can’t define ‘woman’ is unfamiliar with the First Amendment.”

Alex McFarland currently co-hosts Exploring the Word on the American Family Radio Network, airing daily on nearly 200 radio stations across the U.S. He is also the host of the “Alex McFarland Show,” which airs weekly on NRB TV and YouTube.
