Dear Parents,

If you’ve ever been caught off guard by a deep question from your child—something like, “Why does God let bad things happen?” or “How do I know I’m really going to heaven?”—you’re not alone. These questions are not just signs of curiosity; they’re signs of a heart that’s beginning to wrestle with truth, eternity, and the character of God.

As a parent, you don’t need to have all the answers. But you do have the opportunity to guide your child toward the One who does. In this article, we’ll walk through several big questions kids often ask about Christianity. Each answer is written in a way that’s easy for young minds to understand, while still rooted in the deep truths of Scripture.

Let’s dive in.

I’m a Good Person. Why Do I Need Jesus?

It’s great to be kind, helpful, and honest. But being “good” isn’t what gets us into heaven. Imagine trying to jump across a huge canyon. Some people might jump farther than others, but no one can make it all the way across on their own. That’s what it’s like trying to be “good enough” for God.

God is perfect. That means He never does anything wrong—not even once. And He says that to be with Him forever, we have to be perfect too. But none of us are. We all mess up sometimes. We lie, we get angry, we’re selfish. That’s called sin, and it separates us from God.

That’s why we need Jesus. He’s the only one who never sinned. He came to earth, lived a perfect life, and then died on the cross to take the punishment for our sins. Then He came back to life to show that He had beaten sin and death!

When we believe in Jesus and ask Him to forgive us, He makes our hearts clean. He gives us a new life and helps us live the way we were meant to. So even if you’re a “good” person, you still need Jesus—because only He can make you right with God.

What Does the Bible Say About Dinosaurs?

Dinosaurs are super cool—and yes, the Bible actually talks about creatures that sound a lot like them!

In the book of Job, God talks about two amazing animals: Behemoth and Leviathan. Behemoth is described as a huge land animal with strong bones and a tail like a cedar tree. Leviathan is a sea creature with tough scales, sharp teeth, and the ability to breathe smoke or fire. These descriptions sound a lot like dinosaurs or giant reptiles!

The Bible says God made all the animals on the same day He made people (Genesis 1:24–27). That means dinosaurs were created alongside humans—not millions of years before. Some of them may have even been on Noah’s Ark during the flood. After the flood, many animals, including dinosaurs, may have died out or changed over time.

So yes, dinosaurs fit into the Bible’s story! They remind us of how big and creative God is. And even though we don’t see them today, we can trust that God made them for a reason—just like He made you.

How Can I Know That I’m Saved?

Sometimes kids wonder, “How do I know for sure that I’m going to heaven?” That’s a really important question—and the Bible gives us a clear answer.

Being saved means you’ve trusted Jesus to forgive your sins and be the leader of your life. It’s not about being perfect or never messing up. It’s about believing that Jesus died for you, rose again, and is with you now.

If you’ve prayed and asked Jesus to come into your life, and you really mean it, then you are saved. You can know it for sure because God keeps His promises. The Bible says, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13). That means you!

You might still have questions or doubts sometimes. That’s okay. Even grown-ups do. But you can always talk to God, read your Bible, and ask your parents or church leaders for help. And remember—Jesus loves you, and He will never leave you.
