The faith of martyrs abroad encourages Dr. Alex McFarland’s31 Days of Prayer for America

‘Whether you pray alone, with friends, or as part of a church group, these 31 days have the power to inspire meaningful, lasting change’

GREENSBORO, N.C. Recent reports from Syria reveal that over 800 people and likely many more, including women, children and priests, were senselessly murdered purely for their faith in Christ. This attack on Christianity is the latest in a long line of persecution against believers. Internationally, more than 380 million Christians suffer high levels of persecution and discrimination for their faith. In the U.S., youth, culture and religion expert Dr. Alex McFarland calls for prayer using the newly released guide, “31 Days of Prayer for America.

“The salt and light demonstrated to the very end by our fellow Christians in Syria motivate us in the United States to pray for our nation,” said McFarland. “We must strengthen our faith and the country to stand against atrocities like those witnessed recently in Syria. That effort starts from within. We are emboldened by the martyrs and guided by their example to pray fervently for our country so it may be an example of the power of faith and service first inwardly and then outwardly across the world.”

To inspire and guide Christians through thought-provoking prayer, McFarland and Alex McFarland Ministries are excited to announce, “31 Days of Prayer for America”, a helpful tool designed to guide prayer with specific objectives for America. Alex McFarland Ministries has focused on prayer, calling on and encouraging Americans to its daily pursuit with a series of planned resources and initiatives — “31 Days of Prayer for America” is the first.

“In times of uncertainty, prayer brings hope, clarity and renewed faith. With this ‘31 Days of Prayer for America’ guide, participants will be equipped to seek God daily on behalf of our nation. Each day’s prompt will focus their heart, spark deeper devotion and invite them to stand in the gap for the future of our faith. Prayer and its impacts begin with the individual, spread to others and the nation, and further to those around the world. ‘31 Days of Prayer for America’ focuses on U.S. objectives. Upcoming prayer initiatives from our ministry will broaden the focus. Whether you pray alone, with friends, or as part of a church group, these 31 days have the power to inspire meaningful, lasting change,” said McFarland.
