The Iranian worldview calls for bloody war; why would its leaders negotiate?
‘Let’s call a spade a spade and prepare for the reality of our future relations with Iran,’ says Dr. Alex McFarland
GREENSBORO, N.C. — Despite the United States’ efforts to negotiate in a Western-style peace process, Iran continues to strike tankers in the Strait of Hormuz. A U.S. official has confirmed that three commercial vessels were struck by Iran, re-igniting the conflict. These attacks took place during a supposed ceasefire, which U.S. officials had led the U.S. to believe would stop these attacks. Such aggressive Iranian behavior reflects the real conflict — a clash of worldviews that drives the continued Iranian attacks in the strait.
Washington is missing the violent collision of Western ways of negotiation and the approach of Iran’s Shiite leaders who have been committed for 47 years to the destruction of the Great Satan, America. Leaders in the U.S. are negotiating with Iran as if it had Western values, while at its core, Iran hates American values and longs to destroy the West, according to youth, culture and religion expert Dr. Alex McFarland.
“The U.S. is acting like it has no clue about the realities of the worldview of Iranian leadership. The positive behaviors we think we’re incentivizing instead communicate to the Iranians that we are weak and vulnerable,” said McFarland. “Iran has its own worldview, and it is vastly different from our Christian framework (as well as many other countries). While we have founded our national belief system on biblical values, the Iranian regime is based on Twelver Shia Islam. Many Twelvers believe they are to wait on the turmoil, but many others (including those who run Iran) believe they have a hand in creating the conditions for the turmoil. Based on this worldview, why would they want to negotiate peace with America? If their worldview values chaos, it’s in their best interest to create as much disorder and conflict as possible. Let’s call a spade a spade and prepare for the reality of our future relations with Iran and other like-minded cultures.”
