GREENSBORO, N.C. — While many Americans still view the Smithsonian as an educational juggernaut, Hillsdale College’s Matthew Spalding recently spoke before the House Oversight Committee about the insidious undermining of American history within the Smithsonian institution. Claiming that the analysis of American history undoubtedly paints a negative picture of this great nation, Spalding argued the exhibits teach “self-loathing” to visitors merely wanting to learn about American forefathers. “How you teach these ideas at a public institution is crucial for how you form citizens,” Spalding explained.
“Thank God for true Americans like Professor Spalding who see the ideological brainwashing happening right in the heart of our nation’s capital,” said youth, culture and religion expert Dr. Alex McFarland. “It is the Smithsonian’s job to present the truth of American (and global) history, not filter the facts through a DEI lens. By applying such a warped view of America, the next generation will not revere our hard-won freedoms the way they should. This lack of patriotism is at the heart of the liberal agenda. The Smithsonian has been driven by the false philosophy of cultural Marxism for far too long. It is high time Americans critically consider the subversive messaging and stand up not only for the truth, but for the right to choose whether or not we want to be exposed to such unpatriotic brainwashing.”
