Candidate’s ‘woke’ Jesus has no place in Christianity — or Texas, says Dr. Alex McFarland
‘We are all sinners in need of forgiveness, and there’s only one true savior, Jesus Christ, and Talarico’s version is not the real Jesus’
GREENSBORO, N.C. — James Talarico, a so-called “secularist seminarian,” recently won the Texas Senate Democratic nomination on a progressive Christianity platform that skews the Gospel and butchers the key messages of the Bible. From claiming that the Virgin Mary consented to the immaculate conception as a reason to promote abortion to arguing that the Bible is “all over the place when it comes to marriage,” Talarico’s outrageous assertions that the Bible is “woke” have been met with confusion and outrage from many in the Christian community. His methodology, however, has managed to sway millions of Americans to his worldview.
“James Talarico’s statement that there is ‘something happening in Texas’ is absolutely true, but is it for the better? Decidedly not,” said Dr. Alex McFarland, founder and president of Alex McFarland Ministries. “Talarico’s faith-based bid to flip Texas to the Democratic Party is nothing more than a plot to persuade Texas Christians to give him a vote. The great state of Texas is tragically becoming less Christian by the day, and ultimate opportunist Talarico is capitalizing on this dip in faith by muddying the water and ultimately creating a brand new religion based on this ‘progressive’ Christ. Let me be clear: the only Christ that leads to eternal salvation is the one found specifically in the Bible. We are all sinners in need of forgiveness, and there’s only one true savior, Jesus Christ, and Talarico’s version is not the real Jesus.”
Alex McFarland currently co-hosts “Exploring the Word” on the American Family Radio Network, airing daily on nearly 200 radio stations across the U.S. He is also the host of the “Alex McFarland Show,” which airs weekly on NRB TV and YouTube. The “Alex McFarland Show” podcast is available here.
