‘No Kings’ media obsession hides global attacks on millions of Christians, says Dr. Alex McFarland

‘Even as we use our rights here in America, may we earnestly pray for the men and women who are not afforded the luxuries we take for granted’

GREENSBORO, N.C. On Oct. 18, millions of Americans gathered at more than 2,700 “No Kings” protests across the country to march against President Trump’s second tenure in the White House. Despite the high turnout, experts believe the protests will do little to make any changes in this administration. In response to protests, a White House spokesperson commented, “Who cares?”

While disagreeing with the premise of the protests, youth, culture and religion expert Dr. Alex McFarland acknowledges the freedom that made these shows of discontent possible and mourns the loss of that same freedom for many Christians around the world.

“Our country was founded on the idea that everyone should be allowed to speak their mind,” said McFarland. “These ‘No Kings’ protesters, while failing to see the big picture for America that President Trump is painting, are constitutionally protected. However, there are millions of Christians around the world who are harassed, assaulted, and even put to death for their beliefs. In North Korea, Christians are placed in labor camps and sentenced to years of hard labor that many do not survive. Christian persecution in dozens of other countries is a daily occurrence that goes woefully under-reported in the media. Meanwhile, ‘No Kings’ protests in the U.S. receive almost minute-by-minute coverage. Even as we use our rights here in America, may we earnestly pray for the men and women who are not afforded the luxuries we take for granted.”

Alex McFarland currently co-hosts “Exploring the Word” on the American Family Radio Network, airing daily on nearly 200 radio stations across the U.S. He is also the host of the “Alex McFarland Show,” which airs weekly on NRB TV and YouTube. The “Alex McFarland Show” podcast is available here.
