Sesame Street chooses indoctrination over education with jarring Pride Month social media post
‘Love does triumph over all, but it is the unerring and divine love of God, not the fleeting, secular emotion today’s culture promotes,’
says Dr. Alex McFarland
GREENSBORO, N.C. — Even as many big-name brands quietly lessen their support for the LGBTQ+ Pride Month amidst overwhelming social pressure, Sesame Street, the once-beloved children’s television program, has released a rainbow-themed post on its various social media accounts, declaring, “On our street, everyone is welcome. Together, let’s build a world where every person and family feels loved and respected for who they are.” The post immediately faced backlash from critics across the country, with many outraged that the program brought the LGBTQ+ debate to their impressionable child audience.
“Does the LGBTQ+ mafia have to ruin everything?” declared youth, culture and religion expert Dr. Alex McFarland. “Sesame Street (and many other children’s programs) was founded on a simple and honorable idea: teach children how to count, read, and develop other basic academic skills. What it has become is a cesspool for Leftist indoctrination. Instead of foisting an unbiblical and immoral lifestyle on helpless children, parents and guardians should find ‘a world where every person and family feels loved’ through Christ. Love does triumph over all, but it is the unerring and divine love of God, not the fleeting, secular emotion today’s culture promotes.”
On June 15, McFarland will speak with renowned relationship expert Dr. Gary Chapman on the challenges and benefits inherent in personal relationships at the upcoming Alex McFarland Speaker Series in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This series is designed for anyone eager to engage with pressing issues and navigate the complexities of modern thought using solid information and timeless wisdom. Christians will have the chance to reflect on the evolving dynamics of political leadership and learn to defeat the movements and social currents that encourage Christians to walk away from critical, well-informed thinking. Featuring speakers such as Dinesh D’Souza, Charlie Kirk and Lauren Green, the topics range from marriage and family, American politics, the state of the American Church and more.
Alex McFarland currently co-hosts Exploring the Word on the American Family Radio Network, airing daily on nearly 200 radio stations across the U.S. He is also the host of the “Alex McFarland Show,” which airs weekly on NRB TV and YouTube. The “Alex McFarland Show” podcast is available here.
McFarland and theologian Bert Harper, veteran cohosts of the nationally syndicated broadcast Exploring the Word, are proud to announce the launch of their latest book, “100 Bible Questions and Answers for Families.” A follow-up to their previous work, “100 Bible Questions and Answers,” this powerful new book promises to guide Christians through some of the most common challenges and queries people have about God, the Bible and Christian living.
Alex McFarland has authored or co-authored more than 20 books, including the newly released “100 Bible Questions & Answers for Families,” “10 Issues that Divide Christians,” “The God You Thought You Knew,” “10 Answers for Skeptics,” “10 Answers for Atheists,” “The 21 Toughest Questions Your Kids Will Ask About Christianity,” published by Focus on the Family, and more. He directs Biblical Worldview and teaches in the School of Practical Government for Charis Bible College, located in Woodland Park, CO.
McFarland is a frequent guest on Fox News and has been interviewed by other media outlets including Fox and Friends, Focus On The Family radio, NPR’s All Things Considered, The New York Times, The Washington Post, BBC, CBN, La Vie (France), and various news outlets including CBS, FOX, NBC, CSPAN, SRN, and the Associated Press (AP) wire service.
