Should Christians Honor Jewish People?

Genesis 12:3 says, “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you.” This promise was given to Abram, who later became Abraham, the father of the Jewish nation. God chose Abraham’s descendants to bring His covenant, His Word, and ultimately the Messiah into the world. Because of this, Israel holds a unique place in God’s plan.

So yes, Scripture teaches that believers should honor and bless the Jewish people. This does not mean approving everything the modern nation of Israel does politically. Instead, it means recognizing that God has used the Jewish people to bless the entire world. Romans 3:2 says they were entrusted with “the oracles of God,” and Romans 9:5 reminds us that Christ Himself came from Israel “according to the flesh.”

The New Testament also teaches that salvation comes through faith in Jesus for both Jews and Gentiles. But Paul warns believers not to become prideful. In Romans 11:18 he writes, “Do not boast against the branches.” God is not done with the Jewish people. He has a future plan for Israel, especially in the end times.

Christians bless Israel when we pray for the nation’s peace, share the Gospel, and stand against antisemitism. Psalm 122:6 says, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May they prosper who love you.’” We bless the Jewish people not only because of Genesis 12:3 but because they are a key part of God’s story.

Believers should support and bless the Jewish people. God used them to bring salvation to the world, and He promises to fulfill every covenant He made with Abraham.
